Overview

This document will list and differentiate the phases of emergency management; describe the essential actions needed for a nurse’s household to be prepared for a disaster, including contents of a car and home emergency kit, first-aid kit, and “go-bag”; identify the key components of a Family Emergency Plan.

You will need to pass the CEU post-test with 75% or higher to receive credit. 

Learning Objectives

By the end of the session, participants will be able to:

  • List and differentiate the phases of emergency management. 
  • Describe the essential actions needed for a nurse’s household to be prepared for a disaster, including contents of a car and home emergency kit, first-aid kit, and “go-bag.” 
  • Identify the key components of a Family Emergency Plan.
